About Us
Chamber History
The Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce serves businesses and organizations in the towns and communities of Afton, Colesville, Conventry, Harpursville and Nineveh in the Southern Tier of New York in Chenango County. In 2013 we were awarded a $20,000 Constitution Pipeline Grant, so the Chamber began new outreach initiatives, expanded its membership, participated in community events, offered a business marketing seminar, and developed informational materials including a member brochure for distribution.
The growing membership of the Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce offers a number of benefits and opportunities to businesses, organizations, area residents, and visitors. We are a 501(c)6 non-profit membership organization corporation, and part of the 4TownsForward initiative aligning Afton, Bainbridge, Sidney and Unadilla.
Our Vision
The Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to being a bridge to the future by uniting business and community members to advance the economic growth, civic involvement and quality of life in this area.
Our Mission
To promote collaborations with community organizations, local government and businesses:
- To stimulate growth and leverage resources to increase business opportunities
- To support and increase cultural opportunities that attract visitors
- To develop programs that improve the quality of life for area residents
